Marketing your business means more than just telling someone about your company and hoping they spread the word about it. As a business owner, you need to get out there and let everyone know that your business is there and the services you offer. If you find that you are not getting as much business as you would like, you should attempt to rev up your marketing plan and begin showcasing the work you do and the work you can do.

Your Services Are Needed

Let’s face it, people pass away every day and as such, loved ones and family members are in need of items to remember the person by. As a funeral director, you have an opportunity to seize this moment and take advantage for yourself. You will be able to provide all of the services the family members need for the upcoming viewing and funeral service.

How Often Should You Market?

There are a number of different ways to market your company from postcards to posting on social media and each way is different than the next. For instance, if you are running a postcard campaign, there are different measurements to judge how successful the campaign was and your response rate. On average, a person will need to see a postcard or flyer two to three times before they make a move or action on it. This means that for your postcard marketing campaign, you should schedule your mail outs to be a couple of week apart to ensure delivery while still making the point.

If you are utilizing an email marketing campaign, you are on the right track too. You want to make sure that your email is read and that it is grabbing the attention of your prospects and customers. One thing to keep in mind is that your company cannot send out multiple emails to the same address every day as this would flood the prospects’ inboxes and send them running. Try to only email them once maybe twice a week.

Lastly, if you are working on a social media marketing campaign, make sure that you are posting to your account, but that you are not over posting as this will annoy people. You should aim for three to five Facebook posts per week and up to 10 Twitter posts per day. You do not want to overwhelm users, but you want to make it known that your company is available to help with all of someone’s funeral needs.

Get Started Today

If you have not started a marketing campaign, you are falling behind. It is important that you take a moment to step back and think about how many customers you want, how many services or products you need to sell, and how you plan to market yourself.
